Holistic & Biological Dentistry

“Holistic” is rooted in the Greek idea of Holism, or Wholeness. Biological dentistry and holistic dentistry are often interchangeable terms as they have very similar goals. Biological is also referred to as “biocompatible”, since it refers to practices that consider compatibility of materials and techniques on the systemic health of the person.

A Holistic Mouth Doctor builds up your overall health through a healthy mouth.

A Holistic Mouth is a healthy mouth sensibly used to build whole-body health. By contrast, a dysfunctional mouth has built-in problems that can undercut your health even before you use it. Sleep apnea, bite-related neck pains, failing root canals, old, decayed fillings or crowns, and periodontal disease are some examples.

The mouth is centrally located between the head and spine, above the gut and airway, and close to the brain. It has multiple nerves, blood vessels, and lymphatic connections to the rest of the body. This is why a dysfunctional mouth can undercut whole-body health.

The mouth is not comprised of only teeth, but also the jaws, jaw joints, jaw muscles, the tongue, saliva, cheeks, lips, nerves and blood supply, and billions of bacteria. The mouth is used for eating, swallowing, breathing, speech, smiling, relating, and more.

Our team builds up your overall health with a healthy mouth. We seek the safest, least toxic ways to accomplish the mission of necessary treatment.

We live in a world of many choices of restorative materials and techniques. Be assured our team puts much time and effort into researching the materials to be sure they are safe, effective, and long-lasting.

Our office is “mercury-free” and “mercury-safe”. This means that not only we do not place mercury or nickel-containing amalgams, but also when old amalgams are removed, we take special precautions to mitigate the exposure to the released mercury particles and vapor. We practice the SMART protocol prescribed by the IAOMT – a global non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the public and the environment from toxic exposure.

We collaborate with health professionals of all types and specialties, such as chiropractors, functional medicine physicians, physical therapists, myofunctional therapists, naturopaths, sleep physicians, and ENT’s to reduce overall inflammation, gut inflammation, restore nasal breathing, and realign head-bite-neck-spine.
